“We’re seeing rising demand for our camping guide, so we printed an additional 10,000 guides this year, making for a grand total of 45,000 printed campground directories,” said ICA Treasurer Larry Fons, who also co-owns and operates Double J Campground in Chatham.
The guide features write-ups on 45 campgrounds and includes a two-page travel planning map, as well as a grid that allows consumers to quickly see which campgrounds offer 26 different types of amenities and services, from tent camping to rental accommodations to cable TV and Wi-Fi, as well as other characteristics of interest to camping and RVing enthusiasts, according to a press release.
This year’s Illinois Go Camping guide has already been distributed to visitors’ centers, campgrounds and RV dealerships across the Midwest, as well as major RV shows, including a new venue for ICA, the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa.
“Support was really exceptional for the guide this year,” Fons said, adding that it includes advertising from Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Parks Camp-Resort, Kampgrounds of America (KOA), Sun Communities, as well as several independently owned and operated campgrounds, RV aftermarket suppliers and RV dealers, including General RV Center, the largest motorhome dealer in Illinois, which took the back cover.
