Seasonal campers at the Iroquois Campground in South Dundas, Ontario, are returning to find what they are calling a shocking increase to their campsite rental expenses.

During budget deliberations in February, South Dundas council members approved a staff recommendation to increase fees at South Dundas’ only municipally owned campground, according to The Leather.

They approved a daily rate increase of 2%.

Also with that approval came a change in the calculation formula for monthly rates and the elimination of a seasonal camping rate.

With the calculation changes and the increase, that effectively amounts to a 53% monthly increase in cost for those who were previously seasonal campers.
