Woodall Publications Corp., a producer of campground directories, has announced the release of its 2008 North American Campground Directory.
Keeping rising fuel costs in mind, this year’s directory offers front-of-book editorial features called “One-Tank Trips” highlighting the most interesting trips in seven North American regions that can be explored on a single tank of gas, according to a news release.
Enclosed with this year’s directory is a CD that features all campgrounds, recreation vehicle parks, service centers and attractions found in the print version. The CD is in a searchable format that does not require an Internet connection – ideal for pre-planning at home or to find places to stay and attractions to visit while on the road.
The 2008 directory includes more than 284,000 updates and changes to provide outdoor enthusiasts travel information for each state and province, highlighting attractions and points of interest to make planning an RV vacation simple. Each privately-owned campground is personally inspected and rated by a Woodall’s field representative team.
“Woodall’s continues to evolve and grow to stay ahead of the curve for today’s travel enthusiast,” said Joe Daquino, senior vice president, Affinity Media, the parent company for Woodall’s Publications. “The CD and “One-Tank-Trips” make it easier than ever for readers to customize their vacation planning to identify the most economical routes and dynamic attractions the North American continent has to offer.
The “One-Tank Trips” feature offers short treks for travelers in seven North American regions: the South, Canada, Far West, Frontier West, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Northeast.
The directory outlines driving directions, locator maps, site widths, overnight fees and handicap accessibility for locations across the map from Florida’s sandy beaches to the Great Lakes to the wilderness of Alaska to the deserts of California. Each travel section begins with a quick, at-a-glance chart outlining which parks welcome big rigs, pets and are Internet friendly (Wi-Fi parks are specially marked).
In addition to the comprehensive North American edition, Woodall’s offers nine regional campground guides, including the Eastern & Western editions and individual regional guides: Far West, Frontier West & Great Plains, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, New York/New England, the South and Canada. To further assist RVers, Woodall’s offers an RV Buyer’s Guide, a RV Owners Handbook, and two cookbooks: Cooking on the Road with Celebrity Chefs and Campsite Cookbook. Also available is the Woodall’s Extended Stay Guide to help RVers find places to park and RV for a month or a season. This guide is included in each edition of the Campground Directory.
