The Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Quarryville, Pa., has won the Park of the Year award from the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC), notes a release from the park.
The Park of the Year award, which the Quarryville Jellystone won in the medium size park category, is presented to a park or campground with 101 to 250 sites that provides an extraordinary guest experience as a result of all-around excellence in operations, professionalism, marketing, customer service and industry involvement.
Owned by Northgate Resorts of Grand Rapids, Mich., the Quarryville Jellystone Park location features numerous onsite amenities and attractions, including two swimming pools, two hot tubs (one for kids 12 and under) and a water zone with a water playground, water slides, a fort, a water cannon and interactive spray features. Other attractions at the location include an 18-hole mini-golf course; a disc golf course; jumping pillows; laser tag; gem mining; gaga ball; a hiking trail; a fishing pond; and basketball and volleyball courts. The park features a variety of rental accommodations in addition to its RV and tent sites and some rustic cabins.
ARVC recently recognized the “best of the best” in the outdoor hospitality industry at its annual awards program on Nov. 11 at the 2021 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE) in Raleigh, N.C.
Five other Jellystone Park locations were finalists in various categories of ARVC’s award competition. Jellystone Park locations in Golden Valley, N.C., and Caledonia, Wisc., were both finalists for ARVC’s Park of the Year Award in the large park category, which is for parks with 251 to 499 sites.
The Jellystone Park in the Wisconsin Dells was a finalist for ARVC’s Plan-It-Green Award in the large/mega category for parks, which includes parks with 251 to 499 sites, as well as parks with more than 500 sites. The Jellystone Park locations in Akron, Ohio and Harrisville, Pa., were Plan-it-Green finalists in the medium-size category for parks with 250 sites or less. The Plan-It-Green Award recognizes parks that are enrolled in ARVC’s Plan-It Green Friendly Park program and continue to show leadership, innovation and commitment to running a green park.
