Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort locations across the country are planning to celebrate Father’s Day with a variety of competitive activities, including father-child mini golf tournaments, fishing derbies, father-child look-alike contests and dad joke contests.
“Each location has its own mix of activities to celebrate dad on his special day,” said Trent Hershenson, a father of two and director of marketing for Camp Jellystone, which franchises more than 75 Jellystone Park locations across the U.S. and Canada. “Some Jellystone Park locations will celebrate Father’s Day with an entire week’s worth of father-child activities.”
Here’s a sampling of how Jellystone Park locations are planning to celebrate dad for his special day:
Big Prairie, Ohio: This location will have a week of Father’s Day activities, June 13-19, including a steak grilling contest, a dad joke contest, a fathers-only cornhole tournament, and a root beer float social.
Burleson, Texas: Children that spend Father’s Day weekend at this location will have an opportunity to make a craft gift for dad and dress dad up for its annual “Mizz Jellystone Park” contest. Other activities include a “Copycat Dress Like Dad Contest” and a “Silly Selfies with Dad Scavenger Hunt.”
Caledonia, Wisc.: Father’s Day weekend activities at this location include tournament-style games with dad, including corn hole and miniature golf. Kids will also be able to make a sports medal, a sports-themed wind catcher, and a fun Father’s Day craft for dad.
Cave City, Ky.: At this location, dads will compete against kids in a 9-hole mini golf classic. There will also be a father-son look-alike contest.

Larkspur, Colo.: This location will celebrate Father’s Day week, June 17-23, with a father-child look-alike contest and a Miss Jellystone Park Pageant in which kids dress their dads as women.
Sturgeon Bay, Wisc.: At this location, dads will receive one free game of mini golf and compete in a big splash contest over Father’s Day weekend. Other activities include a chocolate pudding eating contest — without a spoon!
Wisconsin Dells, Wisc.: This location is planning a “Father’s Day Family Championship Week” from June 16-22 with opportunities for kids to make a handmade Father’s Day card, a “What I love about my dad” popsicle stick card, and a salt dough handprint. Competitive games will include a water bucket relay, a water balloon toss, a ninja obstacle course and a scavenger hunt. Dads will also be able to show off their moves at the Father’s Day dance party and pool party celebration, try samples at the beer and cheese stick tasting social, and join a pie-eating contest.
