This acquisition marks TJO’s 12th RV resort since beginning the Great Escapes RV Resorts brand in 2019.
The expansive resorts are nestled in the stunningly beautiful hills of Cherokee County in northeastern Alabama with private, beachfront access to Weiss Lake, the crappie capital of the world, noted the release.
In addition to private beach access, these tree-covered resorts also offer three pools and two playgrounds. Located next door is Pirate’s Bay Waterpark with tube slides, body slides, a water house, a splash pad, and mini-golf.
The campground will be renamed to Great Escapes RV Resort Chesnut Bay, while the rental homes will remain Chesnut Bay Resort. Both resorts will be family-friendly and geared towards short-term vacationers.
TJO plans to add even more amenities, including a jumping pillow, laser tag, golf cart rentals, Water Wars, food service, gem mining, as well as 30 more cabins and an expanded number of RV sites.
“We are pleased to add these exquisite properties to our portfolio, so Great Escapes RV Resorts can expand its offering of beautiful and entertaining backdrops for families to visit and make joyful memories to last a lifetime,” said Ricky Jenkins, president of The Jenkins Organization.
