The Jenkins Organization Inc. has purchased the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Warrens, Wisc., which it plans to enhance with numerous improvements in preparation for the 2022 camping season, according to a press release.
“We have big plans for the park, and we can’t wait to get started,” said Ricky Jenkins, president of The Jenkins Organization, which has acquired five Jellystone Park locations across the country in the past two years.
Initial improvements will include the installation of fiber-based Wi-Fi and cable TV connections, as well as the replacement of numerous cabins. Laser tag, gem mining and a jumping pad will also be added as new amenities.
During the winter months, The Jenkins Group plans to renovate the park’s ranger station, cafe, activities building and water attractions. A floating water sports park, called a Wibit, will also be installed in preparation for next summer’s camping season.
Existing park attractions include a six-lane, thrill-seeker racer waterslide, a wave pool, a lazy river, a swimming beach and pond, a 36-hole miniature golf course and a shuffleboard court.
Jellystone Park locations are famous for their family activities and Yogi Bear costumed characters, notes the release. The Warrens location’s theme weekends range from family sporting events to Mardi Gras-, Easter- and Christmas- themed with games and prizes. The park also has Halloween-themed weekends with costume and campsite decorating contests, and trick-or-treating.
