Year-over-year motorhome registrations edged up 2.1 percent in June while sales also rose 2.1 percent for the first six months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

As reported by RVBUSINESS.COM, Thor Industries Inc. ranked as the motorhome sales leader year-to-date with a 21.1 percent market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (19.3 percent) and Forest River Inc. subsidiary Coachmen RV (12.4 percent).

In the Class A category, registrations in June were flat, down 1 percent compared with 2011, while sales gained 2.9 percent for the six months. Winnebago led the category year-to-date, posting a 21.3 percent market share, while Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. held a 20.7 percent share and Thor was No. 3 with a 17.7 percent share.

Class C sales increased 5.5 percent in June and 1.6 percent for the six months. Thor led the category through June with a 24.9 percent market share, followed by Coachmen (19.9 percent) and Winnebago (17.1 percent).

Rental registrations, which were primarily Class C sales, fell 29 percent in June.
