As families and friends begin planning their summer getaways, Kalahari Resorts is helping to ease the cost of gas prices and encouraging  consumers to hit the road this summer with their 2nd Annual Fuel Your Fun Gas Giveaway Tour, partnered with a variety of exciting summer deals and promotions.

Throughout the month of June, the tour will take over a local gas station in four cities across four states. Kalahari Resorts will exclusively reveal each city’s “secret” gas station location on its Facebook page. The first 125 people to get to the pumps at each location will receive $25 in free gas, according to a news release.

“Rising gas prices are top-of-mind for all Americans making summer vacation plans. We empathize with cost-conscious travelers, so we’re helping to ease their pain at the pumps and get our customers back on the road this summer,” said Travis Nelson, a Kalahari spokesperson.

“Summer getaways have become tradition between friends and family and we want to be sure it stays that way. Pack up the car, get on the road to your closest Kalahari Resort and we’ll help fill your tank. It’s that simple.”

According to a 2012 survey by the U.S. Travel Association, rising gasoline prices will impact leisure travel plans this summer. More than half of vacationers who planned to travel by car said higher fuel prices would affect their summer plans. As a family run business, Kalahari Resorts understands the importance of spending leisure time with friends and family. That’s why both Kalahari Resorts in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and Sandusky, Ohio, are offering free $40 gas cards with designated vacation packages — getting consumers back on the road and putting money back in their wallets. Consumers are encouraged to “like” Kalahari Resorts on Facebook to view exclusive announcements regarding the “secret” gas station locations, posted on the morning of each event. Meanwhile, Kalahari has revealed the metro markets near which they will be appearing:

  • Milwaukee, June 14.
  • Cleveland, June 19.
  • Chicago, June 21.
  • Detroit, June 26.
