Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) announced that it has completed the purchase of the Timberlane Campground in Clarksboro, N.J.

The independently owned campground was purchased Tuesday (Dec. 13)  from Sweetie and Scott Goess of Clarksboro.

Although KOA now owns the campground, the Clarksboro property will not be immediately operated as a branded KOA facility and will continue to be called the Timberlane Campground for the near future.

“We plan to make a few updates in coming months to bring the campground in line with KOA standards,” said KOA Vice President of Company Owned Properties Terry Shade. These changes will include the construction of a new, fully stocked campground store and the addition of a playground. Also, KOA will be adding park model RV accommodations and constructing several patio RV sites.

“The campground will continue to operate as it has in the past until the updates are completed,” Shade said. “When it’s ready, it will be converted to the KOA brand and join the other 490 campgrounds in the KOA system.”

The Timberlane Campground will be managed by KOA Company Owned Properties Division veterans David and Sally Masarik. The Marasiks have managed the Cherokee/Great Smokies KOA in North Carolina for several seasons.
