The Holiday Hills Resort in Eddyville, Ky., was hit hard by tornadoes that struck the Midwest in mid-December.

Danielle Lee, co-owner of the Holiday Hills Resort in Eddyville, Ky., along with her husband, Daniel Lee, told WOODALLSCM.com (WCM) that they continue to press ahead with recovery efforts at their park was hit hard by a storm that led to 20-plus tornadoes striking throughout the midwest in mid-December.

Lee told WCM late last week that they had worked to clean up 85% of the large trees that were knocked down during the tornado and that they are currently trying to get access to water and electrical panels since “a lot of our infrastructure was damaged.”

The Lees initially posted to Facebook that  “out of 131 campsites we may have 50 that weren’t damaged in some way.”

Lee noted to WCM right before Christmas that the resort doesn’t look “as much like a tornado hit it.”

“Almost all of our log cabins (5) are very damaged, one of our Lakeside Place tiny houses is getting a new porch and roof, and all buildings are getting new roofs,” she said. “The recovery effort is going forward, but we are finding more and more work to be done every day.”

The park was closed for the season when the storm hit, so Lee said they were lucky that no one was in the park when the tornado moved through.

“Our security guy was there and it rocked his world,” she explained. “Totaled his truck and camper, but he was OK, just shook up.”

The Lees have owned the park since 2019 and also own a smaller RV park, Tween the Lakes Campground in Grand Rivers, Ky.
