Representatives from Lakewood Camping Resort today (Oct. 27) announced that the 30th Annual Jack Monroe Beach Ride, a yearly equestrian event that raises money for the American Heart Association, will take place Nov. 2-6 at the resort, located in Myrtle Beach, S.C

Various events will occur throughout the Beach Ride including a horse parade and costume contest, a chili cook-off, a silent auction and live entertainment from Lakewood Camping Resort’s High Steppin’ Country, according to a news release.

Every year, Lakewood Camping Resort donates more than $50,000 in kind to this charitable event. Lakewood completely transforms the campground so that it is equestrian friendly to the more than 1,500 horses that are guests during the event. Lakewood also provides cleanup crews, daily entertainment and events and deeply discounted rates for the participants.

Every year, more than 1,000 riders participate in the event. The minimum donation for individual riders is $150. For Saddle Club participants, groups of 15 or more riders, the minimum donation is $130 per person and the minimum donation for riders 16 years of age and younger is $100 per person.

“We are excited to host and celebrate the 30th Annual Jack Monroe Beach Ride here at Lakewood Camping Resort,” said Robert Clinger, general manager of Lakewood Camping Resort. “Lakewood Resort has been hosting this wonderful event for 30 years and it’s great to see so many people support the American Heart Association year after year while connecting through their love of horses.”
