Leisure Systems Inc. (LSI) has named Kelly Jones director of franchisee development for its Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park camp-resorts.
Jones has been involved with the Jellystone Park in Amboy, Ill., since 1976. As general manager of the park, Jones was recognized in 2003 and 2006 as Operator of the Year, an award given to the camp-resort that demonstrates the strongest overall business system among the 70 Jellystone Parks in the United States and Canada.
According to a news release, Jones’ new position will allow her to share her park management expertise with the entire LSI franchise system. She will oversee various training programs, including CAMP, a program for new park owners and managers; CARE, a camp-resort program for recreation personnel; and symposium, LSI’s annual summit at which park owners and managers gather to share business trends and best practices.
“I’m very excited to continue my professional relationship with Jellystone Parks and look forward to working with new and established parks in their operations and recreation development,” Jones said.
Director of franchisee development is a new position at LSI.
Launched in 1969 by D.M. Haag, the Jellystone Park system is now the second largest chain of campgrounds in the United States, boasting more than 70 campgrounds with more than 15,000 campsites in 26 states and Canada. Yogi Bear Jellystone Parks are franchised through LSI, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Park River Corp., Cincinnati, Ohio.
