Several Canadian campgrounds in the Manitoba Province will be staying open until Thanksgiving, thanks to a provincial pilot project extending the operating season.
According to the Winnipeg Sun, the province hasn’t announced which campgrounds will be included, but a list will be available at gov.mb.ca/conservation/parks.
In addition, entry to provincial parks will be free throughout Labor Day weekend. Nightly camping fees will still apply.
“The public has told us they want more time to explore the great outdoors in many parts of our province and we want to find ways to make that happen,” said Conservation and Water Stewardship Minister Tom Nevakshonoff. “We know that fall can offer beautiful weather and scenery, so we want to give hardy campers an opportunity to extend their camping season.”
