Winter camping is open at Muskegon (Mich.) State Park for the first time in more than a decade, MLive.com reported.
In an obvious connection, the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex is located across Scenic Drive from Muskegon State Park’s Lake Michigan campground.
According to Kevin Klco, park supervisor, the winter camping option will primarily be used to provide people with the opportunity to take part in the activities at the winter sports complex with easy accessibility. However, so far, Muskegon State Park has only hosted a few camps since the winter season began.
Jim Rudicil, Muskegon Winter Sports Complex director, said winter camping at the state park has its benefits.
“We believe it will add a cool element to visiting here,” Rudicil said.
