A Rolla, Mo., man has been charged with two counts of first degree murder after authorities say he killed two people and fired a weapon at two others, late Tuesday night at Riverview RV Park.

The park is located off Highway 54, on the west side of the Osage River Bridge.

On Nov. 8, Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Winfrey charged Gary L. Sweet with two counts of first degree murder, two counts of first degree assault, and four counts of armed criminal action.

Winfrey says Sweet “knowingly caused the death” of two Lake Ozark residents with “deliberation” by shooting them with a gun.

Throughout the day on Wednesday, Miller County Sheriff’s Deputies blocked the entrance to the RV park, as crime scene investigators could be seen going in and out of the park office. Some who have their trailer at the park were delayed from accessing the site, as the investigation extended into the afternoon.
