A Mount Airy, N.C., man has announced plans for a first-of-its-kind primitive campground in the city, according to The Mount Airy News.
This effort by Charles Dakota Smith will be the subject of a public hearing before the Mount Airy Board of Commissioners during a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m.
The hearing will center on the fact that the idea for the primitive campground, targeted for a site on Hamburg Street, will be new territory as far as city regulations are concerned.
Smith was quick to say that the facility on the 3.4-acre site would cater to small travel trailers and not large RVs.
Stays would be limited to 14 days, with a register of all occupants to be maintained.
