After last week’s winter storm and a brief closure of the entrances and parking/staging areas into Dripping Springs Natural Area and Soledad Canyon Day-Use Area, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management Las Cruces (N.M.) District has lifted the closures, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported.

However, a third site — Aguirre Spring Campground — remains closed to vehicular access.

Because the campground is located in a shaded part of the Organ Mountains, the entrance, a one-way loop road, and campground still have a lot of snow and ice and will remain closed.

BLM personnel said they will alert the public when it is safe to drive to the campground and the closure is lifted.
