After a 19-month wait, an Aztec business owner is set to receive permission to open an RV park seven miles northeast of Aztec, N.M., the Daily Times of Farmington reported.
On Tuesday (Nov. 18), New Mexico’s secretary of the environment, Sean Flynn, approved a discharge permit for a planned sewage lagoon at the proposed RV park. Tom Payne owns land at 16747 U.S. Highway 550 where he plans to open the park. It is possible the permit could be appealed, however.
Payne has signaled his plans with a prominent banner posted on a fence facing the highway that reads: “Coming Soon Bar 7 Ranch RV Park.”
Reached for comment on Thursday by the Daily Times, Payne declined to discuss his plans for the park.
