The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has recently completed upgrades to Nicks Lake Campground on Bisby Road in Old Forge, according to the Adirondack Almanac.
The campground is known for it’s wildlife friendly surroundings and abuts a 205-acre shallow lake closed to motor boats for quiet water canoeing, kayaking or swimming.
The campground features a modern, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-accessible playground, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, and more than three miles of paved roads for bikers and joggers.
The campground will be open this year until Oct. 14.
