The only night race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup is over, but the fans who came to camp by the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina are headed home with memories of another good time at the track, the Concord Independent Tribune reported.
On Thursday afternoon, Steve Shaffer and Roger Polhamus, from Pennsylvania, battled Steve’s brother Stan and Delmus Bolyard in a game of corn hole between their campers at Tom Johnson’s Peninsula Campground on the south side of the track.
The group made the trek from the Keystone State to enjoy the racing atmosphere.
“We love coming down here,” Steve Shaffer said.
The Shaffers and Roger Polhamus have been to many other races – Rockingham, Darlington. Polhamus has even been to Vegas.
