The crew of a U.S. Navy MH-53 helicopter made an emergency landing Wednesday (Jan. 30) at Cherrystone Family Camping Resort in Cape Charles, Va., according to WAVY.
Navy Public Affairs Officer Dave Hecht said the heavy lift helicopter’s chip light, a mechanism similar to a car’s dashboard warning light that alerts the crew something may be wrong with the helicopter, turned on and the crew landed as a precaution.
The crew of approximately 4four sailors was not hurt and they’re currently working to see what the issue is.
