The new RV park at the Laramie County Fairgrounds in Cheyenne, Wyo., hosted an RV rally even before its grand opening, according to a report by the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.
The Cheyenne Jackalopes RV Club hosted the annual national roundup of the Red Dale Wagon Train at the park beginning Sunday (June 25). Then the Laramie County Fair and Fair Board held a ribbon-cutting ceremony the next afternoon.
Gary Wisecup is the current wagon master for the Red Dale Wagon Train, which means he is the president of all the RV club chapters nationwide.
“We’ve been trying to get a venue here for the last three or four years so that we can hold this event here,” Wisecup said. It was held in Holyoke, Colorado, in 2016 and 2015.
The Red Dale Wagon Train currently involves clubs from Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas and South Dakota. Wisecup said some members-at-large come from Texas, Arizona, etc.
He said there are about 170-200 members of the club nationwide with about 138 RVs.
