The Athabasca (Alberta) Lions Club is killing two birds with one stone with its plan to revitalize the old rodeo grounds while providing the town with a much-needed public campground, the Athabasca Advocate said in an editorial.

The group is to be applauded for moving past the disappointment that accompanied the old riverside campground being destroyed to make way for the interchange. The Lions have instead focused on the opportunity to revive activity on the other side of the river.

The measured, thoughtful approach to improve Athabasca for all of us is one we thank them for.
