North Dakota’s camping season is fast approaching, and an official said state sites will book up quickly this year, television station KXMC reported.

“It’s a big thing in North Dakota,” said Gordon Weixel of the North Dakota Department of Parks and Recreation. “People like to be outdoors, they like to camp, they like to go fishing, boating, canoeing, hiking and you name it, we offer it all.

“In mid-May everybody will be turning on their power and everything else and we expect a lot of people. Memorial Day will be right behind that and if you haven’t made your reservations now, it’s probably going to be tough to get in. That is one of the busiest times of year,” said Weixel.
