Parents looking for non-scary, fall festival-type of activities to do with their children in late September and October can find them at the Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Akron, Ohio.

According to a press release, the Uniontown campground, which has 68 campsites and five rental cabins, has fun, fall family activities taking place the last weekend of September and the first three weekends of October.

“We’re doing magic pumpkin weekends where kids get their magic seeds, plant them and return later to pick up their pumpkins,” said Donna Williams, the park’s general manager.

Other activities include arts and crafts, pumpkin carving, campsite decorating, costume contests and trick or treating. “We are also building a giant haystack for the kids to play on,” Williams said.

Jellystone Park has also partnered with Kingsway Pumpkin Farm in neighboring Hartville, which is offering up to four free tickets to each family that books a campsite or cabin at Jellystone Park so that they can walk through the farm’s corn maze. The pumpkin farm tickets are normally $12 each.

“We have some families that are coming multiple weekends to take advantage of these wonderful fall activities,” Williams said, adding that Jellystone Park has seasonal campsites for those who would like to leave their RVs at the park.
