New owners of Willow Lake Campground & RV Park in Tavistock, Ontario, Melanie and Mark Jaycock, have selected Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock & District as their park’s charity of choice.

According to a press release, in May of 2017, Mark and Melanie Jaycock connected with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock & District (BBBS) with an opportunity to receive the proceeds of cans and bottles donated by their guests. Melanie and Mark introduced themselves as the new owners of Willow Lake Campground & RV Park.

They communicated their desire to give back to their new community and in particular youth. Through discussions the partnership evolved from a bottle drive to include activities such as an activity day for BBBS Kids N Kops camp, camping weekends, waitlist program activities, agency picnics, event space and more.

“We took over the park in March and moved from Toronto, we wanted to be able to support local youth in our new community and thought BBBS could be a fabulous partner to work with,”said Mark Jaycock.

Kristen Ralph, interim executive director of BBBS, noted, “The partnership seemed like a natural fit. This couple left careers in Toronto to fulfill a dream and passion of camping and outdoors, and now they want to collaborate with an agency who works with children and youth to help them reach their full potential and work towards their dreams. They are great role models of people who worked hard, followed their hearts and now want to give back, so other people might have the same experience.”
