Sandbanks Provincial Park in Ontario could be welcoming even more visitors in the future, the Belleville Intelligencer reported.

Thursday (Sept. 25), the Prince Edward County Council learned the park is planning to add 75 RV spaces on the west side of the park in a new campground development.

“The park’s overnight camping is currently at capacity,” said WSP group engineer Mark Routhier, speaking on behalf of Ontario Parks.

Routhier said the campground development would include three campground loops, a new two-lane entrance, a new roundabout on County Road 12, a gatehouse/office, improved train connections and a new exit to County Road 12.

Routhier also said there are no firm timelines for the development.
