One of the state’s largest RV organizations has launched its week-long annual Samboree Wednesday (June 17) in Roseburg, Ore., according to a report by KPIC.

For the very first time the 47th Annual Oregon Samboree is being held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

For decades the Samboree was held in Jefferson County, but participation has been declining so the Oregon Good Sam Club thought changing venues would bring in fresh faces.

“The city has been great to us, the fair board has been wonderful to us; we hope to be here for a lot more years,” says Oregon Good Sam Director Larry Minor.

And that’s great news in terms of the economic impact for Roseburg.
