Flooding at River’s Edge RV Resort and Camping (Clatskanie, Ore.) on Saturday (March 14) left some campers seeking shelter elsewhere, and some vehicles were damaged after around a foot of water poured into the campground over the weekend, according to KGW8.
However, a little over 48 hours later, the campground looked entirely different, with just some muddy patches left to hint at what occurred early Saturday morning.
The owner of the park, Phillip Rissel, said the park is in good shape now, but also noted he was working for about 36 hours to clean the mess up.
“As soon as first light came around, we started going out and just doing some of the cleanup. Anything that floats, firewood and stuff like that is drifted around,” he said.
He said the biggest damage now is coming from people who are worried about camping in the future.
“We did over $20,000 worth of cancellations in one day. And that’s just… we’re going backwards again,” he said.
