The Calcasieu Parish (La.) Police Jury voted to deny a request to allow a 72-space RV park near Deatonville, television station KPLC reported.
Landowner Tanis Robinson proposed putting a 72-space RV park called Wagon’s Rest in the area to give temporary workers a place to stay.
Concerned residents showed up at this week’s Calcasieu Parish Planning and Zoning Board meeting to voice their opposition. Their concerns ranged from environmental issues to traffic problems.
The board recommended voting against the park. The recommendation went before the policy jury for a final decision and the jury voted to uphold the zoning board’s decision.
