The property’s owner, Wayne Ford, shared his plans to operate an RV park on the four-acre property at 1085 Mt. Laurel Road if it is rezoned.
The planning commission’s recommendation to rezone the old Clover School property from R-1 residential to A-1 agricultural is only the first step in the process of fulfilling Ford’s plans of opening an RV park.
“It’s a neat building and I’d like to restore it, but it takes money to do that,” Ford said. He added the old school building, which he estimated dates back to the 1930s, needs a new roof and new windows.
In addition to renovating the building, Ford said he also would like to fix up the outdoor basketball courts and playgrounds outside the old school for community children’s use.
“The school has a full outdoor basketball court and playgrounds. I’ll like to redo all that out there,” Ford explained. “If the RV park makes enough money, I’d like to put a community swimming pool there. Kids live out there, and they need something.”
