The new RV review and adventure/lifestyle show “RV Buddies” went quietly online Sunday, Oct. 12, for a soft-launch at www.rvbuddiesonline.com.
Parts of the opening segments were filmed at California’s Pismo Beach Campground.
Within 24 hours of launch, even before the advanced Google analytics software could report traffic, e-mail to the site and joins to the shows’ Yahoo group sky-rocketed. Site traffic at one point crashed the servers for 15 minutes, according to a news release.
Mark Summers, host and co-executive producer of the show, said, “I love this kind of problem. The response has been tremendous – both from within the industry, and from the RV community.”
Summers added, “A few technical tweaks to our servers, and now we’re ready for a lot of traffic!”
“RV Buddies” is airing the first episode, a few segments at a time, each week. Two more segments are scheduled to air at the end of this week. The “RV Buddies” crew has not only been in post-production from the last show, but in preparation for filming the 56th Annual California RV Show, as well as build-out of the website for launch. The Pomona show concluded on Sunday.
The crew spent three days at the show shooting footage of more than a dozen debuting 2009 RVs, as well as two very special interviews – one of which featured RV manufacturer Bob Tiffin.
Post production is beginning on the RV show segments and the producers are focusing on the 2009 schedule. Interested sponsors and advertisers are invited to contact “RV Buddies” for marketing opportunities including banner placement, online video commercials and product placement.
