Several of the most prominent properties in the Village of Whitehall, N.Y., are expected to change hands soon, as the manager of Finch and Chubb Restaurant and Inn intends to buy the landmark restaurant from owner Bill Brina, who is also auctioning off Whitehall Marina and RV Park next week, the Glens Falls Post-Star reported.

Two years ago, Brina bought the properties from separate owners, but shortly after the purchase, Brina’s friend Hillary Wagoner, who was going to manage the marina, died. Wagoner’s death left Ingalls as the manager of both businesses, which stand across the Champlain Canal from one another.

“The marina and RV park were up for sale last year, but my owner has decided to go ahead and auction them off,” said LeAnn Ingalls, who with partner Sal Penetta has been running Finch and Chubb and plans to buy the restaurant. “We’ve got a lot of plans for this place,” she said.

The auction is scheduled for 2 p.m. May 13 by telephone and at the marina site. The marina and RV park may be sold together or separately. Ingalls said she is willing to help the new owners and notes the sites can be ready to go for the 2014 season.
