All bids are in and contracts are expected to be awarded for a Yellowstone National Park project in Wyoming that will cause ongoing travel delays in certain portions of the park.
According to the Big Horn Radio Network, over the next two years delays are expected between the East Entrance and Fishing Bridge as contractors work to repair the road, as well as replace the bridge at Pelican Creek and repair Fishing Bridge. Construction is set to begin sometime this spring.
Also on the agenda is an upgrading of Fishing Bridge RV Park that is set to be completed by park concessionaire Xanterra. Yellowstone Superintendent Dan Wenk said that repairs at the RV park have not been made since the 1960’s.
