Mustang Bayou RV Park is under construction and isn’t expected to open until January.
But the park’s website at www.mustangbayourvpark.com is already up and generating interest from Winter Texans looking for a nice place to stay in the Houston area, according to a written announcement from the park and from Texas Advertising.
“We’ve started a waiting list of people who want us to contact them as soon as we have an opening date,” said Jay Purdom, who co-owns and operates Mustang Bayou RV Park with his wife, Michelle, his mother and father, James and Linda Purdom, and Ronnie Evans, a business partner who will live on site.
“The Purdoms have gotten a nice head start on their marketing by putting up their website early. Now they can hit the ground running as soon as they open for business,” said Brian Schaeffer, president and CEO of TXAD Internet Services, which designed the website.
Mustang Bayou RV Park will have 60 campsites, including pull-through sites. The park will also offer free Wi-Fi service, showers and laundry facilities. The park is 20 minutes from Houston and the Medical Center and 30 minutes from Galveston.
Jay Purdom said Mustang Bayou RV Park is his family’s first venture into the campground business. The family has operated an insurance agency for 20 years.
