RV overall shipments were up 4.9% through the end of November, the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) announced this afternoon (Dec. 30).

November saw a rise in towable RV shipments of 3.2% compared to November 2014, and motorhome shipments in November were up 9.4% compared to the same month last year. That brought total RV shipments to 3.9% higher in November to the same period, according to RVIA.

For the first 11 months of the year, a 4.8% boost in towable RV shipments combined with a 6% rise in motorhomes to reach the 4.9% total gain in shipments compared to the same period in 2014.

For the first 11 months, folding camping trailers posted a drop of 12.8%, while fifth-wheel towable were down 1.6% and Class A motorhomes were down 1.3%. In towable RVs, travel trailers and truck campers both saw boosts of 7.7% for the first 11 months. For motorhomes, Class B motorhomes were up 8.6% and Class C motorhomes were up 14.1% in the first 11 months of 2015.

Throughout November, manufacturers had shipped a total of 346,221 RVs, according to RVIA.
