The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) will name two new officers to the association’s Executive Committee at their next meeting, scheduled for March 4 in Orlando, Fla, to replace Winnebago Industries Inc.’s Bob Olson and Fabric Services’ John Regan.
Olson notified RVIA today that effective March 2013 he will resign from the RVIA Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, where he currently serves as first vice chairman, to transition fully into retirement. He will also step down as Go RVing Coalition co-chairman, a position he has shared with Tom Stinnett of Tom Stinnett Derby Center RV.
Regan resigned his seat on the board and position as secretary on the Executive Committee in October to focus more attention on his company, family and community.
“Bob and John were tremendously influential and respected members of the Board,” said RVIA President Richard Coon. “The business experience and wisdom they provided will be missed. On behalf of the association, I thank them for their service and wish them much success with their future endeavors.”
The RVIA Executive Committee will begin to consider candidates to recommend to the board of Directors for the open officer positions on the Executive Committee and the board seat vacated by Regan. Winnebago is expected to recommend a company representative for approval by the Board of Directors to fill their board seat. Coon will also consult with RVDA President Phil Ingrassia on naming a new Go RVing Coalition co-Chairman.
Olson has served on the RVIA board since 2008 and held the positions of secretary, treasurer, second vice chairman and first vice chairman on the Executive Committee. He has served as Go RVing Coalition co-chairman since January 2010. He was also a member of the RVIA Audit, Nominating and Strategic Planning committees.
Regan joined the RVIA board in 2005 and held the positions of secretary and treasurer on the RVIA Executive Committee. He was a member of the association’s Audit, Awards, and Strategic Planning committees. Regan was honored with the RVIA’s National Service Award in 2009.
