Those who enjoy RV camping will soon have a spot in the Midlands to park their campers and enjoy the outdoors, according to the Cola Daily.
Big Rig Friendly RV Resort will open in West Columbia, S.C., this spring at 336 Gardners Terrace Road, approximately one mile from the State Farmers Market.
Owners Bill McLeod and D Melton have been working on this project for nearly two years and are looking forward to opening for campers by March or early April. The two have a background in real estate development and entered the campground business in 2011.
“We are building an approximately 270-300-site RV park and we are building it to accommodate any size rig,” McLeod said. “We are called Big Rig Friendly and the reason we are doing that is a lot of the RVs are a lot bigger and some of the older parks just don’t have room to accommodate them.”
Features of the RV park will include:
- A swimming pool
- An outdoor pavilion
- Pickleball courts
- A playground for children
- A dog park
- An on-site office
- A store
- Bathrooms/showers
- A gathering room
- An exercise room
- Walking trails
