Saskatchewan officials are encouraging people to prepare for the opening of reservations by creating an account on the province’s new online reservation system.

If you’re looking to get a jump on camping season at provincial parks throughout Saskatchewan, you can now begin registration and get everything set up for the official launch, according to MooseJawToday.com.

The new Sask Parks reservation website is now open and can be accessed at http://parks.saskatchewan.ca, with those looking to book sites at any of the provincial grounds now able to set up a new account well in advance of the April 12 date for reservations.

“After many months of preparation, we are pleased to be able to release our new campsite reservation system to the public,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Laura Ross said. “This reservation system offers new amenities to customers and is quite different than in past years. This is a great opportunity for campers to become familiar with the new system, making their reservation process a smooth one in the coming weeks.”

Customers who prefer to reserve by telephone can still do so by calling (833) 775-7275.

One of the major changes this year surrounds vehicle entry permits, which are now available for purchase online and through the call center. Campers that purchase daily or weekly entry permits can print permits from home, with annual permits picked up in-park.

The new system will allow campers to proceed directly to their campsite once they arrive through the auto check-in function, which is expected to keep traffic flowing on busy weekends.
