The Signorelli Co. broke ground on its new resort last August and is set to open the park in June.

The Signorelli Co., a Woodlands, Texas-based developer known for master-planned communities, is gearing up to open its first camping and RV resort, The Retreat RV & Camping Resort.

According to the Houston Business Journal, the new luxury resort, located at 27514 Huffman Cleveland Road in Huffman, will have its grand opening on June 18. However, The Retreat is taking limited reservations now for late April, the company told the Houston Business Journal in an email.

In December 2018, the company launched a new recreational properties division and hired Terry Munoz as vice president to head the division. Prior to joining Signorelli, Munoz was the regional manager for Equity LifeStyle Properties, an owner and operator of manufactured home communities, RV resorts and campgrounds.

Signorelli broke ground on The Retreat in August 2020, the company said. The resort covers 40 acres and shares 3,500 feet of shoreline with Lake Houston.

Kingwood-based Joslin Construction was the general contractor, Fort Worth-based Callahan & Freeman Architects was the architect, the interior design was done by Deko Creative Interiors, and Houston-based ALJ Lindsey was the civil engineer.

The site will have over 300 RV sites with various accommodations. Guests can choose to arrive in their own RVs or reserve one of the eight fully-equipped RVs for their stay.

Other options include luxury cottages from RRC Athens, based in Athens, Texas. Guests can also rent out safari-style “glamping” tents by Eco Structures of Australia or have a “Wild West” experience in covered wagons provided by Idaho-based Conestoga Wagon Co. The wagons will have wooden wheels and canvas covers and include plush beds, a dining room, a common fire pit and a grilling area.

The resort will also have an 8,000-square-foot clubhouse, which will include a convenience store, bathhouse and a laundry station.

The 35 lodging sites range from 200 to 400 square feet, and wagons and cottage rates vary between $150 and $200 a night.

“We wanted to create a unique outdoor experience, with no compromises, a true escape,” Munoz said. “Our guests will have a variety of resort-style amenity options including fitness center, a wine garden, outdoor pool, playground, jump pad, pet park, outdoor movie theater, pavilion, outdoor games and much more.“
