Forest Service employees discovered a large sinkhole near a campground on Wickiup Reservoir near Oakridge, Ore., over the weekend, according to a report by WKVL.com.

The 10-foot by 12-foot hole is about 4 1/2 feet deep.

“Be aware this is highly unstable ground,” said Gregg Garnett, manager of the Bureau of Reclamation’s Bend Field Office. “The immediate area around the hole could possibly collapse as well.”

The Bureau of Reclamation and the Deschutes National Forest want the public to stay away from the sinkhole near Reservoir Campground on the southwest side of the reservoir.
