Recent snowstorms have forced the closure of Sugar Creek campground, located on the southeast quarter of Ochoco National Forest, on Forest Road 58 near Paulina, Ore., radio station KBNW reported.

The campground is typically kept open late in the year to accommodate late season elk hunters in the Paulina Ranger District.

Last week’s snow storms knocked down multiple trees in and around the campground making it unsafe for public use. The campground is expected to reopen in May.
