Canadian Class A and Class C motorized registrations continued to show significant increases in May, pushing overall sales to a 35% gain for the month and 46.7% year-to-date.
According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Forest River Inc. was the motorized sales leader for the first five months, capturing a 39.6% market share, edging out Thor Industries Inc. with a 39.2% share. Winnebago Industries Inc. was No. 3, owning 12.1% of the market.
Class A registrations rose 19.7% in May and 18.2% for the five months. Thor led the segment with a 37% market share followed by Forest River (17.7%), Newmar Corp. (12.1%) and Winnebago (11.8%).
In the Class C sector, sales climbed 39.6% in May and 58.4% year-to-date. Forest River led the category with a 46.3% market share while Thor River captured 39.9% and Winnebago gained 12.2%.
