Canadian towable sales gained 3.6% for the first 11 months of 2018, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).
Results by segment showed:
• Travel trailer sales rose 4.8% year-over-year through November.
• Canadian fifth-wheel sales were flat, up 0.6% for the 11 months.
• Folding camping trailer registrations fell 8.9% through November.
• Park model RV sales tumbled 28.6% for the first 11 months on low volume.
Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towable sales leader through November with a 53% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (34.1%) and Grand Design RV Co. (6%).
By segment, Thor was the leader in travel trailer sales for the 11 months, claiming a 54.4% market share, followed by Forest River (34.3%) and Grand Design (3.8%). Thor was No. 1 in Canadian fifth-wheel sales, capturing a 53.2% market share, followed by Forest River (26.2%) and Grand Design (17.5%).
Forest River led Canadian folding camping trailer sales through November with a 73.3% market share, ahead of No. 2 Thor with a 14.6%Â share. Woodland Park topped the park model RV segment with a 48.9% market share, while Kropf Manufaturing Co. garnered a 22.2% share.
