Year-over-year Canadian towable sales continued to outpace last year, notching a 12.3% gain for the first 11 months of 2017.

According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), results by segment showed:

• Travel trailer sales grew 13.8% year-over-year through November.

• Canadian fifth-wheel sales were up 9.2% for the 11 months.

• Folding camping trailer registrations fell 3.8% through November.

• Park model RV sales rose by 12 units for the 11 months.

Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towable sales leader through November with a 55.2% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. which claimed a 33.5% share.

Thor was the leader in travel trailer sales for the 11 months, claiming a 56.4% market share, followed by Forest River (33.4%). Thor was also No. 1 in Canadian fifth-wheel sales, capturing a 56.8% market share, followed by Forest River (26.6%) and Grand Design RV Co. (12%).

Forest River led year-to-date Canadian folding camping trailer sales with a 69.4% market share while Thor posted a 20.7% share. Woodland Park was park model sales leader for the 11 months with a 38.7% market share followed by Forest River (25.8%) and Kropf Manufacturing (11.3%).
