The latest retail sales report from the RV industry shows that Americans continue to buy one of the less popular but most flexible type of RV.

RVBusiness.com reported that year-over-year Class B motorhome or camper van sales continued to gain traction showing 17.4 percent growth in July and a 27.8 percent increase for the first seven months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).

Through July, Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc. retained its lead in Class B sales, owning a 35.4 percent market share, while fellow Canadian builder Pleasure-Way Industries Ltd. was second with a 20 percent share.

Thor Industries Inc. was the top U.S. manufacturer for the seven months, holding the No. 3 slot with a 19.4 percent market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. at 15.9 percent.
