Sunland RV Resorts’ five San Diego area properties announced they are public donation locations for the 2013 U.S. Marine Corps. Toys for Tots Foundation gift drive.
Collection will continue through Dec. 20. According to the Toys for Tots official website, all toys should be donated unwrapped. Gifts are accepted for children up to 16 years old. Realistic looking toy weapons and gifts with food, if donated, will not be distributed.
“As the holidays arrive, we’re reminded how important it is to be a contributing member of our communities,” said Greg Sidoroff, Sunland RV Resorts’ vice president of operations. “We’re happy to be a donation location for the wonderful Toys for Tots Foundation, and hope to see our guests, staff and community members all participate in collecting toys for the children of San Diego.”
While purchasing items for smaller children is a pretty simple task, donors often wonder what to get pre-teens and teens. The website recommends sporting equipment, toiletries, board games, books, hand-held electronics and similar items.
“RVers are known for being a tight knit community. This is just another opportunity to show how strong and caring of a community it is,” Sidoroff said.
Toys for Tots donation boxes were set up at each of Sunland’s San Diego RV resorts starting Monday (Nov. 25).
