Known for his elevated approach to american comfort food, Jorge Villabona will introduce an approachable version of his acclaimed cuisine to guests at Golden Village Palms RV Resort (San Jacinto Valley) and Emerald Desert RV Resort (Palm Desert) in California, according to a press release.

“In honor of the 50th anniversary of Golden Village Palms RV Resort, we are partnering with Chef Jorge Villabona to make delicious food and exciting culinary adventures part of the lifestyle at California’s largest and most luxurious RV resort,” explains James Lim, senior vice president at Sunland RV Resorts.

This fall, Villabona will launch casual breakfast and lunch service on weekends and bi-monthly dinners at Sunland’s properties in San Jacinto Valley and Palm Desert. The chef is creating banquet menus to make weddings and group events even more memorable at Golden Village Palms and Emerald Desert.

ICONIC RESTAURANTS IN RANCHO MIRAGE

Prior to joining Sunland, Villabona was the co-owner and chef de cuisine of Shame on The Moon restaurant in Southern California.  The popular restaurant received the “Restaurant of The Year” award for seven consecutive years from the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce and the Palm Springs Desert Sun newspaper.

Villabona previously served as executive sous chef at Wally’s Desert Turtle in Rancho Mirage, Calif.  Similar to Shame on The Moon, Wally’s is an iconic destination on the desert’s fine dining scene.  U.S. presidents and Hollywood’s brightest stars have enjoyed exceptional California Cuisine at Wally’s for more than 40 years.

The chef apprenticed at the legendary Hotel de Paris in Monte-Carlo, France. The five-star hotel is home to several Michelin-rated restaurants. Villabona grew up on his family’s ranch in Bogato, Columbia, and first learned how to cook from his mother and grandmother.

GOLDEN VILLAGE PALMS RV RESORT

Spanning 60 acres in San Jacinto Valley, Golden Village Palms offers 1,000 RV lots, 102 cottages and amenities for an active adult lifestyle. The desert oasis is home to three outdoor swimming pools, 10 championship pickleball courts, a putting green, volleyball courts and California’s Shuffleboard Hall of Fame.

EMERALD DESERT RV RESORT

Outdoor enthusiasts flock to Emerald Desert RV Resort where summer fun never ends, according to the release. Warm nights set the stage for live poolside music, al fresco dinners, glow golf and Saturday night movies. Guests get active with eight professional pickleball courts; two swimming pools; tennis courts; a putting green and a driving range. The jewel of Palm Desert features luxury villas as well as 225 spacious RV sites on 33 acres of pristine land.

SUNLAND RV RESORTS

For more than 30 years, Sunland RV Resorts has elevated the art of outdoor hospitality. Its nine resorts in California and Florida offer the amenities and experiences that were once exclusive to world-class hotels. USA Today’s 10 Best Awards named Naples Motorcoach Resort & Boat Club the third most luxurious RV resort in the United States this year.
