The Rockport (Texas) Planning and Zoning Commission voted against a request for a nearly 10-acre RV park in the city.

The commission made its recommendation to the Rockport City Council, suggesting the council not approve a conditional use permit for Sandra Musser to develop Coconuts RV Park on 9.88 acres at 1802 N. FM 2165, abutting many homes on Augusta Drive in the Rockport Country Club, the Rockport Pilot reported.

That action took place at the P&Z’s regular meeting Monday (Oct. 28).

The proposal was the topic of a long public hearing at the council’s regular meeting Oct. 22. At that meeting, of all the speakers, only the two developers spoke in favor of the plan, with everybody else speaking out against it.
